On the Lookout for Respiratory Viruses

Our tracking is up and running for the 2008-9 season. We will start reporting out real numbers (and percent positive for RSV) once all sites start regularly reporting their statistics. Results coming in so far haven't shown much activity with the exception of Parainfluenza type 2 which has been reported from most sites in small but significant numbers. As you know, Parainfluenza type 2 is a respiratory virus that commonly circulates this time of year and is associated with croup in toddler aged children. Keep checking back here in the next few weeks to see updates on RSV, influenza and Adenovirus activity.
